2009 ~ Building something from nothing

When we all came together and volunteered to build legal graffiti walls at the Green Backyard project, I realised how much the artwork- when we were given time to create to a good standard- had a positive effect on the community. It felt good that we, as artists, had added to the environment, and that people of all ages enjoyed watching the paintings change and grow. They would take photos of our work and even recognise our styles. I enjoyed making links in the community and talking to people who I wouldn’t usually have met in my circle of friends.

We had our first jam in summer 2009, and plenty of artists from all over the country were invited, including one of my favourites- 'Sune' ..
